AN NA Biography

 The author of The Fold, AN NA was born in Korea and grew up in San Diego, California but, presently lives in Vermont. AN NA was a former English teacher and she is now hard at work with her third novel. AN NA graduated from Amherst College and has her MFA in Writing Children’s Literature from Norwich University. One of the most interesting things about AN NA is her name. In America, we are used to seeing the first name followed by the last name, in Korea it is the opposite, the last name is followed by the last name. The given name is usually two syllables. In AN NA case her parents thought that it would be easier for American to only pronounce one syllable and was always called by her last name, instead of her first name, which is more common among Koreans. AN NA tries to help Asian American women, feel more comfortable about their looks if it they are insecure about it.
